UDS Daily
About the Company
Our team consists of highly qualified specialists. UDS consists of veteran deminers of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, professional doctors, and managers. Humanitarian deminers are the first to enter the territory after the Ukrainian Defense Forces liberate it from the enemy.
That is why humanitarian demining for us is not just about neutralizing explosive devices. It is, first and foremost, about giving people the opportunity to return to their homes and be safe, to do their household chores, and to play on playgrounds.
UDS is unique in that we use Bozena 4+ and Bozena 5+ robotic demining systems.
UDS has 7 mechanical demining teams formed and performing tasks.
UDS is capable of clearing up to 20 hectares of land per day, which is the largest indicator among all mine action operators operating in Ukraine.
The company has also created 3 non-technical survey teams operating in 5 regions of Ukraine.
The restoration of Ukraine begins with high-quality demining. In order to perform their work at the highest level, our specialists are constantly improving their skills, mastering the latest humanitarian demining technologies, and UDS management systems comply with NATO and ISO standards.
We comply with all requirements and standards, including international ones, to clear Ukrainian land of war contamination and make our country safe.
Humanitarian Demining
Our Certificates
We've successfully completed certification, granting us the authority to participate in humanitarian demining. Additionally, our management systems align with NATO and ISO international standards.
Our specialists
Non-technical survey team 1
The team collects, analyzes and evaluates information about the area, classifying it according to the level of danger without technical means of finding explosive objects.
This group is defined by the ability to work in extreme conditions.
The sappers professionally carried out work with UXO at the industrial enterprises of PJSC Energomashspetsstal and PJSC Kramatorsk Heavy Machine Tool Plant in Donetsk Oblast.
In addition to Donetsk region, the group also conducted HAZMAT operations in Kyiv and Mykolaiv regions.
Non-technical survey team 2
With expert knowledge and skills, the team thoroughly surveys the combined contaminated areas using remote sensing equipment, which reduces the risks of further mechanical demining.
The group mainly works in Mykolaiv region.
Non-technical survey team 3
This team is distinguished from the others by working in difficult environments, including wetlands and inaccessible areas.
The engineers have the knowledge to conduct non-technical surveys using UAVs, interpret the results and provide recommendations on how to use the areas.
The group conducts non-technical surveys in the Kyiv region.
War destruction group
This is a team of professional deminers who carry out work on the destruction and neutralization of mines/explosive devices after all humanitarian demining processes have been carried out.
The team leader is a lieutenant colonel of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine with 20 years of experience in pyrotechnic teams, whose main activity was demining the Black Sea and Dnipro River.
Mechanized Demining Group 1
The sappers of the group use the Bozena 5+ unmanned demining system to clear territories of explosive ordnance.
Among all the teams, this one has cleared the most land in the Mykolaiv region.
The group includes sappers who trained in Slovakia to operate the Bozena remote-controlled demining machine.
The team operates in the Mykolaiv, Kyiv, and Kharkiv regions.
Mechanized Demining Group 2
A team in which every sapper possesses a high level of physical and analytical ability, capable of carrying out the most complex demining tasks in contaminated areas.
The group has carried out clearance work in combat zones in the Mykolaiv and Kyiv regions.
The team includes a sapper with experience serving in the engineering troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Mechanized Demining Group 3
The most communicative team of humanitarian demining sappers in UDS, who demonstrated these skills while carrying out work in the Mykolaiv region, combined with informing the local population about the risks posed by mines and explosive remnants of war.
They carried out mechanized demining work quickly and efficiently using the Bozena robotic demining machine, as well as clearing a combat zone area using the Trembita metal detector in the village of Kyselivka, Mykolaiv region.
Mechanized Demining Group 4
The group uses mechanized equipment to clear territories of explosive ordnance.
The sappers in this group have experience and specialization in the field of humanitarian demining.
Each of them has received the necessary education and training to clear their native land.
Mechanized Demining Group 5
The group uses mechanized means to clear areas of explosive ordnance.
Most of the deminers in this group were trained in Slovakia to operate the Bozena remote demining machine.
Medical Support Department
he department is headed by the Chief Medical Officer, who, together with experienced paramedics and physicians, provides health support and safety for sappers during operations.
Paramedics not only monitor the physical condition of the team members but also prepare them for potential emergencies: they conduct training in first aid, evacuation drills, and ensure readiness for a quick response to accidents.
The department is equipped with modern certified equipment and medical supplies, allowing for an effective response to any emergency, providing sappers with the necessary support in harsh working conditions.
Underwater Demining and Special Diving Operations Group
The main task of the group is to clear water areas of explosive objects and carry out special underwater operations.
The team consists of highly qualified sapper-divers with extensive experience in underwater engineering and demining work.
The group employs the following methods:
- Diver search using the “one diver — one pass” method;
- Trawling with a towing line;
- Trawling using a hemp rope end.
