He has the rank of sergeant. He took part in the ATO as a combat team leader. 
He participated in an international humanitarian demining mission as a demining team leader. 
He also studied at the Interregional Center for Humanitarian Demining and Rapid Response of the State Emergency Service. 
He considers caution, confidence in his actions, vigilance and constant self-development to be important qualities of a deminer
 "I want to be able to travel around my big, beautiful and picturesque country again without fear. And I want our fertile land not to be overgrown with weeds, but to bring prosperity to our people. I want my children to live in a beautiful, democratic state with ambitions and prospects. And for this we need to defeat the occupier," Denys says.
