Non-Technical Survey of the Ukrainian Institute of Potato Research Lands 499.6 hectares

Place of work: Nemishayeve village, Bucha district, Kyiv region.Owner/user of land: Ukrainian Institute of Potato Research, National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine.Period of work: 25.06-26.07.2024.Volume, ha: 499.6.The group that carried out the work: NTS No. 1 (headed by Dmytro Garbuzov), NTS No. 2 (headed by Anna Anisimova), NTS No. 3 (headed by Yuri Bogdan).
As a result of the NTM, the following was found: Site 1: A fragment of an artillery shell fuze; military trenches adjacent to the site.
Site 2: A line of trenches, 6 individual foxholes; a ruptured 30mm shell; a ruptured 100mm shell; 3 ruptured 30mm casings; 2 links for 30mm rounds.
Site 3: 3 former enemy military positions; remnants of an RPG round; fragments of an ammunition box.
Site 4: Former enemy military position.
Site 5: Clear.
Site 6: 10 individual foxholes.
Site 7: 2 transport containers from PMN-2 mines; a survey marker; depressions resembling anti-personnel mine removal traces; a sign in Russian saying "MINES".
Site 8: Former military positions near the site; a fragment of a high-explosive incendiary projectile near the site; a fragment from a multiple launch rocket system (MLRS).
Site 10: A metal fragment - part of an MLRS.
Site 11: 3 individual foxholes.
Site 12: 10 individual foxholes; remnants of 2 small 30mm artillery shells; a small 30mm artillery shell; an RPG round.

Yuriy Bohdan, head of the UDS non-technical survey team, stated: “The survey of the Institute of Potato Research lands was a critical undertaking, given the high value of these lands for scientific research. Unfortunately, they were taken out of use for over two years due to contamination from the war. Our survey confirmed that nearly 440 hectares are contaminated, while 59 hectares remain unaffected.”
The work was carried out in accordance with orders No. 574 dated 28.058.2024 and No. 610 dated 03.06.2024.
