Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for Underwater Demining defines the organization and procedures for carrying out tasks and measures to clear water bodies of mines and unexploded ordnance (UXO) in humanitarian demining operations.
Ukrainian Demining Services (UDS) has an Underwater Demining and Special Diving Works Group within its Humanitarian Demining Department.
The composition of the Underwater Demining and Special Diving Works Group is as follows:

Sapper-diver - Maksym Sergiyovych Sinelnikov;
Sapper-diver - Serhiy Olegovich Pisnyi;
Sapper-diver - Yuriy Oleksiyovych Hayvoronskyi;

Description of the Underwater Demining Process:
Non-technical survey (NTS) is the determination of the procedure for conducting reconnaissance (NTS), clearing water bodies of mines and UXO.
The purpose of clearing water bodies is to detect and destroy (render safe) UXO.
Clearing water bodies is based on the careful collection of information, threat assessment, and the proper application of appropriate clearance processes. This is done to protect personnel.
Methods used in clearing water bodies:

● Line sweep;
● Hemp rope sweep;
● Sweeping with a towed sweep;
● Diver search method one diver one pass;
● Application of underwater UAV.
