Under the leadership of Yaroslav Nad, the UDS Board has approved an "Anti-Violence and Sexual Exploitation" Policy
An integral part of UDS is ensuring a high standard of humanitarian demining work.
"UDS adheres to a zero-tolerance policy towards sexual exploitation, sexual abuse, and the violation of children's rights. The document adopted by our Board of Directors aligns with the principles outlined in the United Nations' ST/SGB/2003/13 document, 'Special measures for protection from sexual exploitation and sexual abuse.' Our company is guided by and maximally synchronizes its activities with international operational policies," emphasized Yaroslav Nad, Chairman of the Board.
The provisions of the "Anti-Violence and Sexual Exploitation" Policy are developed and based on the Constitution of Ukraine, the Laws of Ukraine "On Ensuring Equal Rights and Opportunities for Women and Men," specific articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the Code of Administrative Offenses, the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, and the UN Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons, Especially Women and Children.
To achieve the goals of this Policy, all UDS personnel are obligated to create and maintain an environment within and outside the organization to prevent sexual exploitation and abuse.
The implementation of the Policy's principles is ensured through:
- The functioning, analysis, and continuous improvement of the monitoring and survey system.
- Compliance with mandatory legislative and other requirements.
- Ensuring the implementation of preventive measures to optimize reporting processes in the field of demining at all stages of the life cycle.
- Ensuring safety through the improvement of production and management processes.
- Involving employees in achieving strategic and daily tasks and goals through the use of motivation, training, and professional development.
- Maintaining effective internal and external communications to ensure that company personnel are informed about counteracting violence and sexual exploitation and compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements.
The UDS management assumes responsibility for the implementation of the set tasks and ensuring that the Policy is fulfilled with all necessary resources in accordance with the laws of Ukraine.
