UDS three years: a journey of growth and development

UDS three years: a journey of growth and development

UDS has cleared more than 6,000 hectares of land and surveyed approximately 15,000 hectares. Across different regions of Ukraine, 23 demining teams are working to clear de-occupied territories of landmines, unexploded ordnance, and other hazardous remnants of war.

The UDS fleet includes 20 mechanized demining machines — the largest fleet among non-governmental demining operators in Ukraine.

Our current operational capacity allows us to clear up to 25 hectares per day, and this figure continues to grow.

UDS is one of the few operators working year-round. Mechanization, technology, personnel training, and well-organized processes allow us to carry out operations in both freezing temperatures and extreme heat — wherever conditions allow the work to be performed safely.

Another important area of our work is underwater demining. UDS is one of the few non-governmental operators in Ukraine with practical experience in surveying and demining underwater areas. Our diving teams carry out tasks that require specialized training, equipment, and dedicated safety procedures.

The company also has teams trained to operate in radiological hazard environments and to carry out demining tasks in the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone.

We operate in accordance with international quality and safety standards, including ISO and AQAP, and undertake both government and private-sector contracts.

Since 2024, UDS has been a participant of the United Nations Global Compact.

People are a fundamental priority for us. UDS deminers currently receive the highest salaries in the industry, and the company intends to maintain this leadership. Complex, hazardous, and highly professional work deserves to be compensated accordingly.

Over the years, working at UDS has become prestigious within the professional community — something recognized by our colleagues across the sector. For us, this is not a reason to stop. It is an additional responsibility to uphold high standards, ensure safety, provide quality training, and maintain a strong commitment to our people.

Over the past three years, UDS has repeatedly had to be a pioneer — in new working methods, mechanized demining, underwater demining, as well as in developing new procedures, approaches to work organization, personnel training, and the use of specialized equipment.

Often, ready-made solutions simply did not exist. We had to develop them, test them in practice, improve them, and turn them into effective working standards.

This does not intimidate us. On the contrary, it inspires us.

Because humanitarian mine action in Ukraine today needs organizations that are ready not only to follow established procedures, but also to create new capabilities.

In three years, UDS has built a system capable of handling large-scale, complex, and non-standard tasks — and of scaling up alongside the needs of the country.

Our result is simple and tangible: we are bringing war-contaminated land back to life.

Three years are behind us. There is a great deal of work ahead. And we are ready for it.

Happy 3rd Anniversary, UDS! 🎉
