UDS suspend operations at several sites due to the approaching frontline

In Kharkiv Oblast, a number of sites where sappers from the “East” Humanitarian Demining Department were operating have fallen within the 20-kilometer zone from the line of active hostilities.

In accordance with an official decision of the Mine Action Center, humanitarian demining operations have been suspended in these areas.

The list of sites where operations have been halted includes:

— FOP Vertsun V.L.

— PE “Integral I”

— FG “Ideal-Agro”

— FOP Bilous V.V.

— FOP Korniycha V.P.

“These operations are suspended in line with decisions of the Mine Action Center. We have received an official document on suspension, informed the заказник — the Humanitarian Demining Center — as well as the farmers about the halt of operations. Work will resume once the Armed Forces of Ukraine regain control over these territories,” said UDS Technical Director Eduard Drach.

At the same time, operations continue at certain sites in Kharkiv Oblast — in particular on the lands of FOP Bilous A.V. and FOP Spornyk O.A., where the validity of the relevant authorization has currently been extended.
