UDS sappers have successfully completed training with the NTO at The HALO Trust Ukraine
A group of sappers from the non-technical survey (NTO) of the National Mine Action Operator Ukrainian demining services successfully completed a training course organized by The HALO Trust (Hazardous Area Life-support Organization Trust). Over the course of several days, UDS sappers familiarized themselves with The HALO Trust's work methodology and the NTO process.
"Thank you to the company for the course," shared Anna Anisimova, head of the NTO 2 group, "It was valuable for us to learn about the specifics of HALO Trust's work, how they interpret evidence and make maps, how they allocate areas of responsibility and the specifics of their security measures." The knowledge gained can be used to improve our SOPs in humanitarian demining."
The training included theoretical and practical classes, where UDS sappers had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the best practices of the NTO, as well as to practice the skills of working in field conditions.
For reference. The HALO Trust Ukraine is the Ukrainian program of the largest non-governmental non-profit humanitarian demining organization in the world, The HALO Trust. The volume of demining work at The HALO Trust reaches $1 billion per year.
