UDS sappers have completed demining of agricultural land of the “RYTM” farm
The site, covering a total area of 28.3844 hectares, is located in the Snihurivka territorial community of Mykolaiv region.
A team of 10 sappers and 1 paramedic was deployed at the site.
During the operations, certified mine action processes were applied, including technical survey (TS), mechanical demining (MD), and battle area clearance (BAC). Bozena 5+ machines were also deployed, ensuring efficient and safe ground preparation and processing.
During the operations, UDS sappers identified explosive hazards, including two VOG-17 — 30 mm fragmentation grenade rounds designed to engage personnel and dangerous due to the dispersal of fragments.
“The ‘RYTM’ site was complex. There was an old farm nearby, trenches ran along the fields, and the area was heavily contaminated with metal fragments and debris. At the same time, the team successfully completed the task within the established timeframe and finalized clearance, handing the land back to the farmer for its intended use,” said Denys Yerkhov, Operations Manager.
All explosive items found at the site were transferred to and destroyed by SESU units.
