UDS received an order from the Mine Action Center for mechanized demining of forest lands in Mykolaiv oblast
We are talking about the territory of 18 hectares belonging to the State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine" in Vysunsk, Mykolaiv region. The site is contaminated with explosive remnants of war and shows signs of the presence of anti-personnel mines and cluster munitions.
The UDS team is working on the site in accordance with the agreement with the Southern Forest Office of the State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine", signed this month. The agreement provides for a non-technical survey and subsequent demining.
Earlier, our demining teams conducted a non-technical survey using drones and compiled a report on the state of contamination. Currently, UDS sappers have started humanitarian demining work using Slovak Bozena 5+ remote control vehicles.
Three vehicles are currently performing tasks on the site. A group of sappers is also involved in clearing the area of hostilities.
In total, 36 UDS specialists work at the facility. We plan to carry out demining within 10 days.
Thanks to the work of the UDS team, employees of the Southern Forest Office of the State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine" will start planting planting material in this area this month to restore forests that were destroyed by the war.
"We are grateful to the Forests of Ukraine for their trust! UDS will carry out high-quality work and this month the company will be able to start landing," said Alexander Liev, CEO of UDS.
Reforestation begins with demining!
