UDS presented the results of its work for 2025 at a meeting of the Mine Action Coordination Center under the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration
Today in Kharkiv, a meeting of the Mine Action Coordination Center under the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration took place. During the meeting, the results of humanitarian demining activities for 2025 were summarized, and priorities and key areas of work for 2026 were defined.
During the meeting, participants discussed international cooperation in the field of mine action, the implementation of the compensation programme for the clearance of agricultural land, the results of activities carried out by governmental, international, and national mine action operators in Kharkiv region, as well as the planning of humanitarian demining operations for 2026. Special attention was given to projects aimed at the reintegration of veterans through their involvement in mine action activities.
Within the framework of the meeting, the CEO of UDS presented the results of humanitarian demining for 2025. According to the outcomes of operations carried out in Kharkiv region:
🔺 1,170 hectares were cleared and released;
🔺 1,950 hectares were surveyed;
🔺 34 staff members are employed at the UDS “East” humanitarian demining department, which is registered in the Rohan territorial community. The minimum salary of a deminer at the company is UAH 75,000.
During his speech, the head of UDS noted that the company pays approximately UAH 1,000,000 in taxes every month to the budget of the Rohan territorial community. UDS was assigned to operate in this community by the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration at the initiative of Ivan Sokol, Director of the Department of Civil Protection of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.
While discussing the results of mine action operators’ work in Kharkiv region, Yevhenii Biryukov, Head of the Mine Action Center, noted that UDS ranks among the top three mine action operators in terms of the area of land cleared and released.
Systematic coordination, partnership, and transparency remain key prerequisites for effective humanitarian demining and the restoration of safety for communities in Kharkiv region.
