UDS Presented Key Company Indicators at the Geneva Mine Action Conference

During the thematic panel “Mechanized Demining,” UDS representative Serhii Kryvohuz presented the company's 2024 results. Notably, UDS became the first operator in Ukraine to fulfill a contract with the Humanitarian Demining Center under the state program for clearing agricultural land — without receiving an advance payment.

Throughout the year, the company provided non-technical survey services covering a total area of 5,500 hectares and carried out demining operations on more than 1,630 hectares. In terms of the number of certificates issued, UDS ranks as the largest operator among all mine action organizations in Ukraine.

💬 “UDS is the first demining operator in Ukraine to work year-round,” noted Serhii Kryvohuz. “As of today, the company has developed the capacity to carry out the following monthly volumes: non-technical survey – 2,000 hectares, technical survey – 400 hectares, manual clearance – 20 hectares, BAC (Battle Area Clearance) – 100 hectares, mechanical clearance – 600 hectares, and water area clearance – 50 hectares.”

In addition to participating in the panel discussion, the UDS representative held a number of important meetings with event organizers and participants, including leadership from the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD), Norwegian People’s Action, UNMAS, the International Demining Academy team, and Ukraine’s Ministry of Economy. The main focus of these discussions was establishing international cooperation and attracting additional funding to support humanitarian demining in Ukraine.

Particular attention during the talks was devoted to the importance of reducing demining costs through the implementation of innovative technologies — such as drones and metal detectors — that can be integrated with modern mechanized demining equipment.

🤝🇺🇦 UDS expresses its gratitude to the event organizers for the opportunity to join this important global gathering!

About the event:

This annual global conference, currently underway in Geneva, is one of the most significant events in the field of humanitarian demining. It brings together operators, international donors, government representatives, researchers, civil society, and the private sector from around the world.

The NDM-UN28 conference is held under the theme “Safe Futures Start Here” and serves as a platform for strategic dialogue, knowledge exchange, and the search for practical solutions to the pressing challenges facing the mine action sector. Ukraine is represented at the event by delegates from the Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Defense, Humanitarian Demining Center, and other organizations engaged in land clearance efforts.

The conference provides a three-day opportunity for participants to discuss key topics, share experiences, and build effective international cooperation.
