UDS participated in a meeting of the Coordination Headquarters on Demining in Mykolaiv Oblast

On Wednesday, February 11, a regular meeting of the Coordination Headquarters on clearing the territory of Mykolaiv Oblast from explosive hazards was held under the chairmanship of First Deputy Head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, Heorhii Reshetilov.

The meeting was attended by UDS Deputy CEO Volodymyr Beshlei, as well as representatives of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Mykolaiv Oblast, the State Special Transport Service, the Main Directorate for Mine Action, Civil Protection and Environmental Safety of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, and mine action operators working in the region.

During the meeting, participants reviewed the results of mine action activities. As of today, 609,024 hectares of territory in the oblast have been surveyed, of which 35,000 hectares have already been cleared (demined).

In total, mine action in the region is carried out by five international and fourteen Ukrainian operators. A total of 222 explosive ordnance disposal teams (1,430 specialists and 32 units of mechanized equipment) are involved. In 2025 alone, 11,170 explosive hazards were removed, including 15 aerial bombs.

During the meeting, Volodymyr Beshlei noted that demining of waterways is a strategic priority for Mykolaiv Oblast. Therefore, UDS specialists have developed technical specifications for the survey of the Buh-Dnipro-Lyman Canal and have already conducted a non-technical survey of part of the canal, the results of which were validated by the Mine Action Center.

UDS is a certified operator for underwater and waterway demining and will continue to focus on this area as a priority.

Currently, the UDS team is carrying out demining operations in the territory of the Snihurivka urban territorial community, which was de-occupied by the Defense Forces of Ukraine in 2022.

In addition, participants discussed priority measures to be implemented under the 2026 Action Plan for humanitarian demining of Ukraine’s de-occupied territories, approved by the National Mine Action Authority.

UDS continues its systematic work to restore safety in the territories of Mykolaiv Oblast and across Ukraine.
