UDS Joins the UN Global Compact in Ukraine

UDS has become a member of the UN Global Compact in Ukraine, the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative. The company has committed to adhering to the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact in the areas of human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption.

"By joining the UN Global Compact, we reaffirm our commitment to upholding the Ten Principles in the areas of human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals. We firmly believe that sustainable development and responsible corporate citizenship are fundamental to Ukraine's recovery and prosperity. UDS will continue its mission to create a safe living environment through innovative approaches to humanitarian demining and contribute to sustainable development. UDS is committed to actively integrating the principles of the UN Global Compact into our daily operations, reporting on our progress, and contributing to building a better future for Ukraine and the world," noted Oleksandr Romaniuk, Director of Economics at UDS.

UDS's primary focus areas for sustainable development include: addressing hunger by clearing war-contaminated agricultural land, sustainable development of cities and communities, gender equality, decent work and economic growth, innovation and infrastructure, peace, justice, and strong institutions, and partnerships for the goals.

Background: The UN Global Compact in Ukraine is the Ukrainian network of the world's largest community of businesses operating in accordance with ESG principles. It is a special initiative of the UN Secretary-General aimed at encouraging companies to align their operations and strategies with the Sustainable Development Goals and the Ten Principles in the areas of human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption. The organization has 24,000 participants in 167 countries. The Ukrainian network has 149 participants.
