UDS is conducting demining operations on 487 hectares of valuable land belonging to the Ukrainian Institute of Potato Research

In Kyiv Oblast, the clearance of particularly valuable lands belonging to the Ukrainian Institute of Potato Research, part of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine, is ongoing. The territory is contaminated with category I and II explosive ordnance.

Our sappers are conducting technical surveys by cutting trenches using remotely operated Bozena 5+ demining machines. During this process, the parameters of the previous non-technical survey are refined: the type and extent of the threat are verified. These trenches are 10-20 meters long and spaced up to 50 meters apart. Typically, technical surveys involve the use of metal detectors, but we use Bozena demining machines to significantly speed up the process.

As a reminder, UDS has completed a free non-technical survey of 500 hectares of particularly valuable lands belonging to the Ukrainian Institute of Potato Research, part of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine. As a result, evidence of anti-personnel mines PMN-2 and tripwires was found on the sites.
