UDS has validated 145 reports in IMSMA

From January 2024 to date, UDS has validated 145 reports in the IMSMA (Information Management System for Mine Action) system.

IMSMA is a software developed to support the decision support, monitoring and reporting needs of the mine action community.

The main elements of IMSMA include a PostgreSQL database engine and a geographic information system (GIS) for displaying information on maps. IMSMA is now the mainstream mine action software and is installed in 47 countries.

"We use IMSMA to ensure the accuracy and reliability of our work data. IMSMA is an important programme in mine action because it provides access to updated information on the contamination of an area with mines and other explosive hazards, which allows us to make decisions on planning and prioritising the clearance of these areas. Since January 2024, 145 reports have been validated, including 88 NTO reports and 57 EOD/EM reports: Kyiv region: Ivankivska territorial community, Makarivska community site; Mykolaiv region: farm sites from the villages of Kyselivka, Snihurivka, Bereznehuvate; Donetsk region: Kramatorsk Heavy Machine Tool Plant and Energomashspetsstal," said Igor Shpachenko, Head of Geographic Information Systems and Information Management at UDS.
