UDS has passed the first stage of certification of the "demining of water areas" process
The process of obtaining certification takes place at the State Certification Center of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
💬 "More than a quarter of mined areas in Ukraine are water areas, and it is a big challenge for UDS to clear not only the territory on land, but also in the water. Demining water areas is a more technically difficult process due to environmental conditions: poor visibility, high pressure at depth, etc. For sapper divers, this process requires special training," said Eduard Drach, Technical Director of UDS.
UDS already employs 5 sapper divers with the appropriate skills and experience.
Currently, UDS has a full cycle of clearance of territories and is certified for 7 types of humanitarian demining:
✅ non-technical survey,
✅ technical inspection,
✅ manual demining,
✅ demining with the use of machines and mechanisms,
✅ clearing the area of hostilities,
✅ informing the public about the risks associated with mines and explosives and the disposal (destruction) of explosives.
Demining of water areas will be the eighth type of 🔰 demining
