UDS Enlists Three Subcontractors to Demine Potato Institute Lands

Demining operations are ongoing on 487 hectares of particularly valuable lands belonging to the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine's Potato Institute in Kyiv Oblast, contaminated with Category I and II explosive ordnance.

UDS, in collaboration with the state-owned enterprise "UkrOboronServis," the Swiss company Global Clearance Solutions (GCS), and the national mine action operator Demining Solutions, is carrying out these works as part of a state order.

At this site, two Bozena 5+ remote-controlled mine clearance machines owned by UDS are deployed, along with three UDS sapper teams.

The state-owned enterprise "UkrOboronServis" is conducting manual technical surveys and clearing the area of explosive ordnance.

GCS, using its specialized GCS-200 machine, is conducting technical surveys over an area of more than 20 hectares.

With the third subcontractor, Demining Solutions, UDS has signed a contract for the destruction of explosive ordnance that will be discovered during the demining process.

"Such a partnership is fundamentally important for us," notes UDS Deputy General Director Volodymyr Beshlei. "After all, we are not competitors and have a common goal: together, we are demining and clearing Ukrainian lands of the explosive debris of war."

Demining operations on nearly 500 hectares will be completed within 40 working days.
