UDS Conducts Demining Operations Near Ozera Village

In the Bucha district of Kyiv region, near the village of Ozera, UDS sappers are conducting humanitarian demining operations on a 96-hectare area.

The area has been subjected to systematic shelling by the enemy using artillery and multiple launch rocket systems. Its proximity to Gostomel Airport, which was the epicenter of fierce battles in the spring of 2022, made it one of the most affected territories.

The land is heavily contaminated with various unexploded ordnance, remnants of the enemy's retreat. The main threats include 122mm artillery shells, remnants of Grad multiple launch rocket systems, remnants of 2S9 Nona self-propelled artillery systems, cluster munitions, and other unexploded ordnance of category 2.

The head of the operation is Vitaliy Ilchuk.

A team of 14 UDS sappers and a medic are working on the site.

The demining methods used include manual demining with metal detectors (ORBVD) and mechanical demining.

The completion date for the works is February 20, 2025.

Demining this area will allow the agricultural producer "AGAT AGRO M" to sow it.

The demining/clearance of the territory is carried out within the framework of the state program. We continue to work towards our common goal. Restoring war-torn lands to life!
