UDS and the Institute of Plant Growing of the NAAS have signed a cooperation agreement in the field of demining

🀝 The agreement was signed with the acting director of the Institute of Plant Growing, Oleg Yurievich Leonov.

πŸ“‘ The agreement includes providing services for non-technical survey (NTS) of 55 hectares in the Kharkiv region.

The Institute's lands suffered significant damage due to Russian army shelling in 2022. The enemy specifically targeted areas where there was neither military equipment nor trenches, leaving behind explosive hazards. Currently, these agricultural lands are overgrown with weeds and are not being used for their intended purpose.

Starting next week, UDS will begin the survey. Based on the results of the work, the sappers will compile reports for further inclusion in the IMSMA database. In case of any identified threats, the Institute will be able to participate in the state program for compensation for demining costs.

Serhiy Symonov, the Commercial Director of UDS, noted that this event is the result of effective cooperation with educational and scientific institutions of the NAAS of Ukraine in restoring their research and educational activities. As an example, in January, UDS completed a full cycle of humanitarian demining, and more than 487 hectares of cleared land in the Kyiv region were returned to the Institute of Potato Growing of the NAAS of Ukraine.

πŸ’¬ "NTS is a key stage in humanitarian demining and the first step towards clearing Ukrainian lands from the explosive remnants of war. This is a very responsible mission, as the success of further demining work depends on the NTS. We thank the Institute for trusting us with this important task!" β€” said Serhiy Symonov.
