UDS and Kharkiv OVA have outlined key areas of cooperation in humanitarian demining
To improve coordination and efficiency of UDS operations in Kharkiv region, working meetings were held with Ivan Sokol, Director of the Department of Civil Protection of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, and Danylo Kyslyy, coordinator of the Countermine Coordination Center.
As a result of the meetings, key areas of cooperation were identified, including within the framework of the Memorandum, which is expected to be signed in the near future.
"Kharkiv region is one of the most contaminated territories in Ukraine with explosive remnants of war. This year, UDS sappers have already conducted non-technical surveys of about 100 hectares of agricultural land in Kharkiv region. In the near future, UDS plans to clear more than 300 hectares of land," said Serhiy Simonov, Commercial Director of UDS.
For reference. Last month, the Countermine Coordination Center at the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration (https://macc-ua.org/) was launched in Kharkiv, which is responsible for coordination, interaction, and implementation of activities in the field of humanitarian demining.
