As part of the official visit of the French delegation to Kyiv, five memoranda were signed between Ukrainian Demining Services (UDS) and the French company DEMINETEC SAS.

The signing took place in the presence of the Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and Economic Attractiveness of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic, Nicolas Forissier, as well as the Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine, Oleksii Sobolev.

These memoranda lay the foundation for further cooperation and the mobilization of funding for the implementation of five key humanitarian demining projects in Ukraine:

๐Ÿ”บ Unblocking the ports of Mykolaiv, Phase I โ€” non-technical survey of the waters of the Buhโ€“Dniproโ€“Lyman Canal (BDLC) as a first step toward the safe restoration of navigation.

๐Ÿ”บ Demining of freshwater areas and coastal lands of Ukraine โ€” large-scale survey and preparation for the clearance of inland water territories in affected regions.

๐Ÿ”บ Full demining of the Snihurivka territorial community (Bashtanka district, Mykolaiv region) โ€” comprehensive clearance to restore safety, economic activity, and secure living conditions for the community.

๐Ÿ”บ Demining of the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone โ€” Phase I, focusing on forest roads and firebreaks in areas accessible for demining.

๐Ÿ”บ Demining of forests in Mykolaiv region, Phase I โ€” clearance of forest firebreaks and roads to reduce fire risks and ensure safe access for emergency responders.

The signing took place in the broader context of the Ukrainian-French dialogue on recovery, investment, and cooperation in the fields of security, infrastructure, and humanitarian demining.

During the visit of the French delegation, a number of important intergovernmental agreements and memoranda were also signed between Ukraine and France with the participation of government representatives and leading French companies, demonstrating the high level of representation and the strategic nature of the partnership.

The French delegation included representatives of 16 leading French companies from various sectors, highlighting the systematic and long-term nature of cooperation.

โ€œTogether with DEMINETEC, we are laying the groundwork for the implementation of large-scale projects that will enhance peopleโ€™s safety, support economic recovery, and help restore life to war-contaminated territories. For UDS, this is also an opportunity to combine Ukrainian operational expertise with international experience and technologies,โ€ said Oleksandr Romaniuk, Acting CEO of UDS.
