Today, the UDS leader, Oleksandr Liyev, signed a memorandum with the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, represented by its head, Vitaliy Kim.

The first step in implementing the memorandum will be the conduct of UDS non-technical survey of agricultural land plots designated by the Mykolaiv RMA (in cooperation with the national PMD authority) during January-February 2024, within 10-14 calendar days.

Non-technical survey will be carried out by two UDS demining groups. For the population living near the territories that, as a result of the NTS, will be classified as "suspected dangerous territory" or "potentially dangerous area," UDS will provide information about the risks associated with mines and explosive remnants of war.

According to the document, in February-March, UDS will deliver to the region no fewer than two Bozena 5 demining systems, organizing the training of 9 demining groups involving no fewer than 72 deminers.

By June, during April-May, UDS will conduct humanitarian demining of the designated RMA land plots covering up to 50 hectares using Bozena demining systems and clear them of remnants of war.

In general, the memorandum includes a series of measures, among which are:

  1. Implementation of activities in the field of mine action on the territory of the Mykolaiv region in close coordination with the National Mine Action Authority;
  2. Conducting information and awareness-raising work with the population on civil defense issues and risks of explosive items;
  3. Development of international cooperation and coordination of actions in the field of mine action and assistance to those affected by the war;
  4. Initiating and supporting the development and implementation of local, regional, sectoral, state, and international programs related to humanitarian demining;
  5. Studying and analyzing, promoting the development and implementation of measures related to the introduction of advanced Ukrainian and international experience, information, and innovative technologies in the field of mine action, their systematization for practical application.
