The UDS Supervisory Board has approved the company's policy on alcohol and drug use

A clear mind is the key to successful demining.

At a meeting of the Supervisory Board of UDS, chaired by Yaroslav Nady, the company's policy on the use of alcohol and narcotic substances was approved.

Safety, efficiency and quality of work are what UDS pays special attention to. Our goal is to ensure the highest level of safety and professionalism during humanitarian demining operations.

The use of alcohol and narcotic substances by UDS employees is categorically unacceptable and carries significant risks for people's lives and health, as well as for the successful performance of assigned tasks.

The UDS team employs some of the best specialists on the market, but even for such highly qualified specialists, the requirements are strict and the same for everyone. All employees of the company who participate in humanitarian demining work undergo a daily breathalyzer test before starting work. This inspection is carried out by authorized persons during the daily inspection and its results are recorded in the logbook.

Authorized persons also have the right to conduct control checks of employees on a breathalyzer during the working day, or to conduct unscheduled checks.

In addition, authorized persons have the right to conduct express testing for the detection of narcotic substances. UDS management is very responsible for the challenges facing the company. Therefore, every three months, certified polygraph examiners working in the company conduct surveys of employees using a polygraph. In case of detection of alcohol or drug use by the company's employees, the responsible persons immediately notify the Chief Physician of the UDS Medical Support Department, and the employee who is found to have consumed alcohol or drug use during humanitarian demining operations will be immediately suspended from his duties with subsequent termination of employment.

The work of sappers depends not only on the high-quality cleaning of the territories, but also on the further safety of people who will work on the cleared areas. Therefore, the approach to work should be as responsible as possible. And UDS complies with all requirements and standards in this.
