The Minister of Defence of Ukraine Awards UDS Executives with the "For Assisting the Defence" Medals

By Order No. 1176 of the Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Yevhen Khmara, dated 9 September 2026, the executive leadership of UDS has been awarded departmental commendations — the "For Assisting the Defence" medals — for significant personal contributions to the development of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, fruitful cooperation with the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, and outstanding service to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The medals were awarded to Oleksandr Romaniuk, Acting CEO and Chief Financial Officer of UDS, and Eduard Drach, Chief Technical Officer of UDS.

“It is a great honour for me to receive such a high recognition from the Minister of Defence. During a full-scale war, this is an acknowledgement of the monumental effort of the entire UDS team, which cleanses Ukrainian land from the explosive remnants of war every single day,” said Oleksandr Romaniuk.

For his part, Chief Technical Officer of UDS Eduard Drach noted:

“UDS deminers are among the very first to enter liberated territories right behind the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Our work is built on close coordination with the Defence Forces, and we are grateful to the military command for their trust and high recognition.”

The honorary awards were personally presented by Colonel Ruslan Berehulia, Head of the Main Directorate of Mine Action, Civil Protection, and Environmental Safety.
