The first 9 UDS sappers completed training in Slovakia.

At the end of November, 9 specialists were sent to Slovakia for a two-week training on the operation of the BOZENA remote demining systems.

During these two weeks, our sappers learned to operate the machine and conduct mechanical demining, acquired skills in inspection and maintenance of systems. The operational use of the machine according to our SOP standards was particularly interesting. The group also learned about the latest and best-improved demining methods.

Following the training, they all passed the exam and received a certificate as BOZENA machine operators.

From 2024 onwards, the next group of UDS sappers will head to Slovakia for training.

Mastering the skills of working with the BOZENA system is crucial for UDS, as in the spring of 2024, we will receive 7 new BOZENA demining systems from the Slovak manufacturer for humanitarian demining.

Moreover, currently, another 39 of our sappers are undergoing training in humanitarian demining in Ukraine: 24 in Kharkiv and 15 in Kamianets-Podilskyi.

For UDS, it is essential that the best experts engage in humanitarian demining in Ukraine, and our sappers fit this description.

Additional information: The Slovak Bozena system is a remote-controlled machine designed for demining areas from anti-tank and anti-personnel mines with an explosive resistance of up to 9 kg of TNT. The system includes the main body, a side device, operator's cabins, and a trailer transport platform. The machine is equipped with a rotating chain mechanism. Bozena has already proven itself worldwide and has been purchased by countries such as Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kenya, Ethiopia, Sweden, Poland, and Sri Lanka.
