Swiss donors raise funds to acquire a "Zmiy" unit for UDS

Ukrainian robotics developer Hovertrack Technologies has manufactured and transferred ownership of a new Ground Robotic Clearance (Demining) Complex "Zmiy" to UDS as the end user.

This was made possible thanks to the financial contribution and strong support of the Swiss-Ukrainian Mine Action Association, as well as the personal involvement of donors Prof. em. Dr. med. Alex Straumann, Madeleine Straumann, Barbara Frei Salvetti, and Dr. Markus Salvetti. They launched a fundraising campaign and raised the necessary funds to make this project a reality.

"This new demining system is a tangible boost for our team. The complex is already on its way to carry out humanitarian demining tasks in the Kharkiv region, allowing us to work faster and more safely," said Oleksandr Romaniuk, Acting General Director of UDS.

He also thanked the Swiss-Ukrainian Mine Action Association and the donors personally for their financial contribution to the Ukrainian company Hovertrack Technologies, emphasizing that UDS consistently supports and relies on technologies developed by Ukrainian manufacturers. It is worth noting that UDS already owns and successfully operates several units of this type of equipment manufactured by Hovertrack Technologies.

In turn, Andriy Chekmarov, Director of Hovertrack Technologies, assured of the equipment's quality and effective performance, and thanked the European donors for their trust and support of Ukraine.

The synergy of international charitable support, Ukrainian manufacturing capabilities, and UDS's field experience is helping to accelerate the clearance of de-occupied territories, restoring safety to Ukrainian communities.
