Speed, precision, reliability: Germina wins the “Technological Breakthrough” Award

The highlight of UTTC TECHNOLOGY WEEK 2026—the largest humanitarian demining technology trial event in Ukraine—was the “Technology Relay” challenge.

Manufacturers, technology developers, and mine action operators were brought together into mixed teams and placed in a scenario with severe time constraints and limited information about the mine contamination situation. Each team was assigned a separate area, assessed the situation, developed a clearance plan, selected the appropriate tools, and adapted its actions in real time.

The testing ground featured some of the leading mechanical demining machines currently in operation: the Ukrainian-made Germina URCM-3000 and MP-3200, the Swiss GCS-200, and the Croatian DOK-ING systems.

The team that included UDS was assigned an agricultural land plot.

"Among the various tools available, the team unanimously selected the Germina machine. The demining system carried out the majority of the scenario tasks, including lane cutting and full-area ground processing. It demonstrated outstanding speed, precision, and quality of soil processing, as well as stable communication performance even under conditions of electronic interference," said Oleksii Voitsekhovskyi, UDS Specialist in Field Testing and Evaluation of Machinery and Equipment.

Following the challenge, the jury awarded the Germina URCM-3000 the “Technological Breakthrough” award for a solution that demonstrated a new approach to conducting mine action operations.

👉🏻 UTTC TECHNOLOGY WEEK 2026 brought together more than 350 participants, including technology manufacturers and developers, mine action operators, representatives of government institutions, and international partners.

We extend our gratitude to the organizers of the event—the specialists of the Main Directorate of Mine Action, Civil Protection and Environmental Safety, which initiated the event under the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine and UNDP Ukraine, with the support of the Government of Luxembourg.
