Representatives of The HALO Trust got acquainted with the work of UDS on humanitarian demining in Mykolaiv oblast
Representatives of The HALO Trust, in particular Pete Smith, Head of The HALO Trust Ukraine, and Denys Holovetskyi, Head of Operations at The Halo Trust Ukraine, got acquainted with the progress of humanitarian demining of Mykolaiv oblast, which is being carried out by UDS.
The UDS team showed the operation of Bozen 5+ machines in the field. Currently, 3 Bozena 5+ robotic systems are performing humanitarian demining tasks in the field of farmer Yurii Kotyk.
According to the NTS the field is contaminated with mines and unexploded ordnance. Demining here is carried out by the 3rd and 4th group of sappers of the UDS Humanitarian Demining Department.
The total area that our sappers have already managed to clear is 20 hectares.
Pete Smith, Head of The Halo Trust Ukraine program, noted the high quality of UDS's work, and also noted that the future of humanitarian demining of agricultural land belongs to robotic machines, because it is efficient, safe, fast and inexpensive. The management of The Halo Trust Ukraine and the management of UDS agreed on cooperation, exchange of experience and technologies.
