UDS report for January 9-March 9.

We continue to work on the implementation of the Memorandum of Cooperation, which was concluded between UDS and the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration on January 9, 2024.

Therefore, regarding NTS.

✅ Since January 12,  2024, two groups of NTS  (10 sappers) have been working in the Bashtanka and Mykolaiv districts of the Mykolaiv region, who, by the orders of the Mine Action Center, conduct a non-technical survey of the territory with a total area of 713.65 hectares.

✅ On February 9, 2024, the survey of 5 land plots of the Southern Forest Office of the State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine" with a total area of 23.34 hectares was completed:

— within the boundaries of the Murakhiv forestry

the territory where the contamination of an area of 7.62 hectares with war residues was confirmed and the probable contamination of an area of 11.94 hectares with GNP was confirmed;

— within the boundaries of the Bereznehuvate forestry, a non-technical survey of the field was carried out, where the contamination of the territory of the GNP with an area of 3.78 hectares was confirmed.

Currently, UDS specialists are clearing this land plot from the remnants of the war. As of March 9, 2024, the demining team manually cleared an area of more than 10,000 square meters of explosives. m.

✅ Work on non-technical inspection of 40 agricultural land plots in one of the villages of Mykolaiv district with a total area of 378.47 hectares is underway. According to preliminary information from the NTO group, the area of 183 hectares shows signs of contamination with explosive objects, and the fields with an area of 194 hectares show no signs of contamination with war residues.

✅ NTM of  25 agricultural land plots in one of the villages of Bashtanka district has begun. The total area of these fields is 310.83 hectares.

✅ On March 12, 2024, UDS  specialists carried out the technical acceptance of two Bozena 5+ demining vehicles at the WAY INDUSTRIES plant (Slovakia) and delivered them to Ukraine.

On March 15-16, 2024, the first Bozena 5+ demining system will be delivered to the Bashtanka district, where during March- April 2024, five humanitarian demining groups (50 sappers) will coordinate the mechanized demining process.

The second Bozena 5+ demining system will be delivered to Mykolaiv oblast in the first half of April 2024, after the Mine Action Center certifies the demining process using machines and mechanisms.

The second machine will be used for demining agricultural land with a total area of 40 hectares in the Mykolaiv region.

✅ in February, UDS deployed the Southern Humanitarian Demining Base in Mykolaiv Oblast. In February 2024, 79 employees were transferred to the base. Thus, in February 2024, UDS transferred personal income tax from employees' salaries to the local budget of Snihurivka in the total amount of UAH 467,481.44.

Work to increase the number of employees of the Southern Humanitarian Demining Base continues.

✅ Measures are underway to inform the public about the risks associated with mines and explosive remnants of war.

✅ During February 2024, Memoranda of Cooperation in Mine Action were signed between UDS and the Mykola and Bashtanka District Military Administrations, the Snihurivka City Military Administration, the Kyselivka and Bereznehuvate Village Councils.

✅ At the end of February, UDS representatives also took part in a meeting of the Coordination Headquarters to clear the territory of the Mykolaiv region from explosive ordnance. At the meeting of the headquarters, UDS representatives presented the concept of demining fields with a total area of 7.5 thousand hectares. hectares, which belong to the 1st priority for the economy of the Mykolaiv region.
