Over 5,000 excavations conducted on the reserve lands of the Snihurivska Territorial Community

UDS continues demining operations on the reserve lands of the Snihurivska Territorial Community, covering a total area of 754.8073 hectares. Work at the site began in late January this year and is being carried out under the authorization of the Mine Action Center.

The area designated for Phase I clearance amounts to 243.8934 hectares.

As of today, 5,430 excavations have already been conducted.

During operations, explosive ordnance was identified and destroyed, and safe remnants of war were also recorded, including: — cluster munition submunition 9N210 — 1 item, — anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) — 1 item, — remnants of MLRS “Uragan” — 4 items, — remnants of cluster munition submunition (9N210) — 2 items, — remnants of a World War II mortar shell (50 mm) — 2 items.

All explosive ordnance was transferred to or destroyed on site by State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU) units, while safe remnants of war were relocated to a military scrap metal storage site for further disposal.

The operations involve UDS Humanitarian Demining Departments “South” and “East,” as well as mechanized demining units, including 3 Bozena 5+ machines, 10 demining teams, 5 medics, and 85 sappers.

Clearance is being conducted through technical survey, including battle area clearance (BAC), mechanical clearance, and manual demining, in accordance with National Standard DSTU 8820.
