Nadiia Kudriavtseva appointed leader of a UDS demining team

Her team is part of the UDS Central Humanitarian Demining Department.

From 2015 to 2017, Nadiia studied Accounting at the Chernihiv Industrial and Economic Professional College of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design (KNUTD), graduating with honors. She continued her education from 2017 to 2021 at Chernihiv National University of Technology, earning a degree in Accounting and Auditing. Although she began her career in accounting, she realized after a year that it was not the right path for her and worked as a sales specialist from 2018 to 2021. Since 2021, Nadiia has been running her own business.

Following the full-scale invasion, Nadiia made a major career change. In 2022, she joined an international mine action organization as a humanitarian deminer and, in 2024, was promoted to Team Leader.

Nadiia joined UDS in 2025. Over the past six months, she has served as a deminer on a Non-Technical Survey (NTS) team. She has now been appointed to lead a demining team.

“Non-Technical Survey progresses somewhat faster than clearance operations, which makes it particularly interesting to me. In the same amount of time, you can assess more locations and gain broader knowledge and experience in mine action. I have been working in NTS for the past six months, and I truly enjoy this field. I hope that in my new role as Team Leader, I will continue to develop both my leadership skills and my expertise in non-technical survey,” Nadiia commented.

Throughout her career in humanitarian demining, Nadiia has earned the following certifications: EOD Levels 1, 2, and 3; IEDD Levels 1 and 2; BAC; MMC; Training of Trainers; Team Leader Course; Combat First Aid; and Demining Sapper (State Special Transport Service).

In particular, she obtained her IEDD certification during an international training course in Kosovo as part of the "She Is a Deminer" project, where she was invited together with other UDS female deminers to enhance their qualifications in the disposal of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).

“She is a highly skilled deminer. She has completed training at internationally recognized demining schools and possesses outstanding professional qualifications,” said Eduard Drach, Technical Director of UDS.

Nadiia successfully balances her business, humanitarian demining work, and personal interests. In her free time, she enjoys paintball, ATV riding, painting, and sewing.

Today, 30% of the UDS workforce are women. The company consistently implements a gender equality policy and provides equal opportunities for the professional development of both men and women in the field of humanitarian demining.
