Kyiv Regional Military Administration Familiarized Itself with UDS Operations
Ruslan Oliinyk, Deputy Head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, visited the training and testing ground in the village of Makariv, Bucha district, where UDS deminers demonstrated the full cycle of humanitarian demining operations.
In addition, the operation of the Ukrainian remotely controlled Germina machine in forested areas was showcased.
UDS has established 23 specialized teams capable of clearing more than 20 hectares per day. These teams have proven experience in demining forest areas and water bodies, which is particularly important for war-affected communities in the Kyiv region.
💬 “Clearing territories of explosive hazards is an extremely important process for the Kyiv region, which was one of the first to confront the Russian invaders in 2022. The defense forces liberated the region, but the enemy left behind a dangerous explosive ‘legacy.’ Demining enables people to safely return to liberated territories, allows farmers to cultivate agricultural land, and supports the development of communities and regions.I thank the State Emergency Service (SES) and all demining operators for their active efforts. We are working together for the safety of the Kyiv region,” said Ruslan Oliinyk, Deputy Head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration.
Earlier, UDS agreed to conduct non-technical surveys in the Ivankiv and Makariv forestries, followed by clearing forest roads, firebreaks, and clearings to ensure safe access for machinery and civilian transport.
It is worth noting that a memorandum of cooperation in humanitarian demining has been signed between UDS and KRMA. As part of its implementation, UDS has already cleared 1,500 hectares of land in the Kyiv region, and demining of the Irpin River is scheduled to begin soon.
🔰 UDS continues to work closely with local authorities, the State Emergency Service, and international partners to accelerate the safe return of liberated territories to normal life!
