Kyiv Oblast: Another 146.5 ha of the STOV

Kyiv Oblast: Another 146.5 ha of the STOV "Derenkovets" Facility Have Passed External Quality Control

External quality control is the final and one of the most critical stages of humanitarian demining. Independent inspectors check each plot for the presence of explosive ordnance and confirm that all work has been completed in accordance with international standards. Only after passing this stage is a territory officially considered safe.

Today's result — another 146.5 ha of Ukrainian land, cleared by the UDS team, are returning to life and can once again be used for agricultural purposes.

As a reminder, during the last rotation UDS fully completed operations at the "Derenkovets 1" and "Derenkovets 2" sites. The rotation lasted 32 days without days off — starting March 10 — during which our deminers cleared over 500 ha of agricultural land.

All plots have passed or are currently undergoing external quality control.

In total, UDS has received 11 certificates of transfer of responsibility to the state for cleared plots. This refers to 281,021 ha of the STOV "Derenkovets" facility, which are now officially considered safe.

We are returning lands contaminated by war back to life!
