Introducing the Non-Technical Survey and Public Awareness Department of UDS
This department plays a vital role within UDS. It consists of 13 sapper specialists and 4 managers, with one-third of the team being women.
The department is led by Ihor Nechyporenko.
The department is made up of 4 Non-Technical Survey (NTS) groups. Although these groups specialize in non-technical surveys of territories, they are also directly involved in demining operations when needed.
"For me, it's important that every sapper in the group has direct demining skills. Our department is essentially the reconnaissance arm of UDS because demining operation plans are based on the reports from the NTS department. We cannot afford any mistakes," said Ihor Nechyporenko, the head of the Non-Technical Survey and Public Awareness Department at UDS.
