In three months, UDS destroyed over 260 explosive hazards in Kharkiv region
Over the course of three months since the launch of the UDS humanitarian demining department "Skhid", sappers have detected and destroyed more than 260 explosive hazards (EH), the majority of which (around 200) were neutralized using Bozena 5+ demining machines. In addition, hundreds of non-hazardous remnants of ammunition were removed.
Among the explosive hazards were antipersonnel and anti-tank mines, hand grenades, fragmentation artillery shells of various calibers — 155 mm, 125 mm, 122 mm, 100 mm, 76 mm, 30 mm — as well as a 220 mm Uragan MLRS rocket and other explosive remnants of war.
As a reminder, the UDS humanitarian demining department "Skhid" was deployed in the Kharkiv region in April this year.
Since then, more than 300 hectares of agricultural land have already been cleared and demined by the department’s teams.
Kharkiv region remains one of the most contaminated areas in Ukraine with explosive remnants of war.
We continue our mission to clear the land of the deadly legacy of war 🇺🇦
