In the Kyiv region, the remains of a Soviet soldier were discovered during work
A World War II–era find was uncovered at a site owned by LLC SGF “AGRO-PROBA,” located within the Makariv settlement territorial community of the Bucha district, Kyiv region.
💬 “During demining operations using the ORVBD method (clearing areas of former hostilities), a team of sappers discovered the remains of a Soviet soldier at a depth of approximately 30–40 cm. In accordance with national standards (DSTU), we informed the Mine Action Center, local authorities, and the police about the find. The area has been marked, and work there has been temporarily halted. Operations continue on other sections of the site,” said work supervisor Bohdan Podhornyi.
Additionally, two munitions were found at the site: one RPG-22 and one 76-mm artillery shell from World War II.
It should be recalled that the work is being carried out on a land plot of 75.3306 hectares at the request of the Humanitarian Demining Center.
A total of 33 UDS sappers are involved in the process, using a range of humanitarian demining methods: technical survey, machine-assisted demining, and the ORVBD method. A Bozena 5+ machine is operating in the field.
