Ihor Paraliush appointed Deputy Head of the Department of Special Demining Operations

Ihor Paraliush is a lawyer by profession. Before the full-scale invasion, he worked in the insurance sector and spent more than 15 years developing his own plastics processing business, which was completely destroyed as a result of active hostilities.

He began his career in mine action in May 2022 at a state-owned enterprise, where he qualified as a deminer and carried out demining operations, neutralizing more than 100 items of explosive ordnance.

Ihor has been working at UDS since November 2023 as a Team Leader and Site Manager.

During this time, he has gained extensive practical experience working at challenging sites in Kyiv, Mykolaiv, and Kharkiv regions.

“He is an experienced field commander who knows all the intricacies of demining. His appointment significantly strengthens our entire team,” said Artem Duduliak, Head of UDS’s Department of Special Demining Operations.

Ihor also holds an operator’s certificate authorizing him to operate BOZENA 4+ and BOZENA 5+ mechanized demining machines, which he obtained after completing training in Slovakia at the manufacturer’s facility, Way Industries.

In his new position, Ihor will focus on improving key areas of the department’s work, including non-technical survey, underwater and waterway demining, and the destruction and neutralization of explosive ordnance.

“These areas differ in their specific nature, but they have one thing in common: a high level of responsibility, strict adherence to standards, and a high cost of error. The final result and safety always depend on thorough planning and well-coordinated cooperation with other UDS departments,” commented Ihor Paraliush.
