Icarus Complex Magazine publishes a report on UDS operations in Kharkiv region

International journalist and photographer Kang-Chun Cheng, who works with English-language media covering war and humanitarian challenges, has prepared a report dedicated to demining efforts in Ukraine.

The article focuses on the work of the UDS “East” Humanitarian Demining Department operating on the agricultural lands of “Husarivske” LLC within the Balakliia Territorial Community of Kharkiv region, covering an area of 277.7 hectares. The report also highlights the activities of the Ukrainian operator Safe Ground Solutions.

The feature presents humanitarian demining as a complex, multi-layered process. Particular attention is given to the масштаб of the challenge Ukraine faces as one of the most heavily mined countries in the world.

International attention to the work of Ukrainian humanitarian demining operators is an important signal of support and recognition that land clearance is fundamental to Ukraine’s recovery.
