HMA Cluster: UDS emphasized procuring demining machines of Ukrainian manufacture

During his remarks at the Humanitarian Mine Action (HMA) Cluster organized by the Ministries of Economy, Environment and Agrarian Policy of Ukraine together with UNDP in Ukraine, UDS Chief Economics Officer Oleksandr Romaniuk underscored the importance of using domestically produced demining machines.

The focus was on the GERMINA URCM-3000, manufactured by the Kramatorsk Heavy Machine Tool Plant (KZVV).

Key advantages of the machine:

  1. Competitive price compared to foreign analogues
  2. Production and service support in Ukraine (short repair and delivery times)
  3. Engineered specifically for Ukrainian conditions—climate, soils, and terrain, among others

💬 “GERMINA URCM-3000 is one of the best machines for demining operations. Relying on equipment of Ukrainian manufacture ensures rapid repair and restoration after detonations, as well as support for the national producer,” Romaniuk emphasized.

The meeting also covered coordination of operations, technical support for operators, new projects, and approaches to determining the cost of demining work.

Participants included representatives of the Ministries of Economy, Environment and Agrarian Policy of Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense, the State Emergency Service (SES), the Accounting Chamber, international organizations (UNDP, UNEP, Humanity & Inclusion), and HMA operators.

🤝 We thank the organizers for a productive discussion and the opportunity to bring forward proposals important to the entire sector.

A reminder: UDS will demonstrate the GERMINA URCM-3000 in action in Kyiv on September 30 – October 1!More details are available on uds.pro in the News section.
