Germina Presented in Geneva!

Germina Presented in Geneva!

At the 28th International Meeting of National Mine Action Directors and United Nations Advisers (NDM-UN28), currently taking place in Geneva, UDS unveiled the new Ukrainian demining machine — Germina.

During the presentation, a video demonstration of the machine’s operation was shown, along with a detailed explanation of its technical specifications. The presentation sparked active interest from donors and potential users.

“The presentation was successful and productive,” noted Oleksandr Romaniuk, UDS Director of Economics. According to him, a marketing agreement has been signed between UDS and PJSC "Kramatorsk Heavy Duty Machine Tool Building Plant", under which UDS is organizing presentations of the new Ukrainian machine within the humanitarian demining community.

🔺 Here’s a quick reminder of Germina’s key specifications:

Germina is a universal system designed to clear territories of anti-personnel and anti-vehicle mines, with blast resistance of up to 9 kg of TNT equivalent. Its working unit is equipped with chains and detonating hammers, enabling it to neutralize up to 75% of munitions and detonate about 15%.

The machine has a powerful 380 hp Caterpillar engine, designed for fuel efficiency and durability, and can clear up to 5,000 m² per hour. The processing depth is adjustable to 5, 15, 25, or 35 cm.

Weighing 16 tonnes, the system can operate in temperatures ranging from -20°C to +45°C, features remote control at distances over 1,000 meters, and can perform continuous operations for up to 10 hours.

The standard configuration includes a universal bucket, enabling safe soil movement, trench clearing, and pathway construction. The entire system is designed, manufactured, and maintained in Ukraine, ensuring efficient local servicing and support.
