Demining of agricultural land belonging to the “VIKTAN” farming enterprise completed

The 19.4-hectare site is located near the settlement of Vysunsk, Bashtanka District, Mykolaiv Region. The works were carried out at the request of the Center for Humanitarian Demining.

The Site Manager was Denys Yerkhov.

A team from the UDS Humanitarian Demining Department “South” was involved in carrying out the tasks.

During the operations, technical survey methods were applied using the BAC clearance approach (Battle Area Clearance). The following threats were identified on the site: unexploded ordnance (Category II UXO), cluster munitions, and other explosive remnants of war (ERW). Numerous blast craters, artillery shell packaging, and other indirect indicators of hostilities were also recorded.

In addition, UXO destruction was carried out on the site by the EOD units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Mykolaiv Region: warhead of S-8 unguided aircraft rocket — 2 items.

The works have successfully passed both internal and external quality control with no critical remarks. As a result of the quality assurance process, a certificate transferring responsibility for the cleared land to the State was issued by the Mine Action Center.

The land plots are now cleared and safe for use.
