Demining of 66 hectares of “Barvinok” agricultural company completed
✅ Ukrainian Demining Services (UDS) has successfully completed humanitarian demining operations on 66 hectares of agricultural land belonging to the “Barvinok” farming company, located in the de-occupied territory of the Izium district, Kharkiv region.
The cleared site has passed external quality control — during an independent inspection, no deficiencies were found. These lands are now officially recognized as safe for further use.
💣 The following threats were present in the area:
- 152 mm artillery shells;
- 84 mm recoilless rockets;
- 9N210 cluster submunitions;
- Over 70 fragments of Grad MLRS rockets;
- 15 fragments of Uragan MLRS rockets, and other explosive remnants of war.
To clear the company’s land, forces from the Eastern Humanitarian Demining Department were deployed.
The specified work was carried out using the following methods: Technical Survey, Mechanical Demining (soil preparation), and Battle Area Clearance (BAC) on the prepared soil.
The operation involved:
- 2 mechanical demining teams;
- 5 humanitarian demining teams.

“Next to the company’s land, just a kilometer and a half away, is the village of Dibrivne — and during the invasion, it was occupied by Russian forces and saw fierce fighting. The company’s fields were also contaminated. They were littered with Grads, Uragans, and countless craters from artillery shells and mortar rounds. When we first stepped onto the field, shrapnel could literally be collected by the bucket from the surface. Some of the munitions were effectively destroyed on-site by the Bozena 5+ demining machine, while unexploded ordnance (8 units) were handed over to the Armed Forces of Ukraine so they could use them to strike back at the enemy,” said Ihor Paralush, head of the operation.
These 66 hectares are now suitable for safe cultivation and sowing, marking an important step in restoring agricultural production on de-occupied land.
