Demining continues in Kharkiv region: over 100 PFM mines destroyed, WWII artillery shells and an entire container of ammunition discovered

The field of agricultural company โ€œKolosโ€ LLC in Kharkiv region turned out to be heavily contaminated with explosive remnants of war: mines, artillery shells, and other ammunition posing a serious threat to human life and the recovery of agricultural production.

Currently, humanitarian demining is underway here, carried out by the UDS โ€œEastโ€ Humanitarian Demining Department. The total area under clearance covers 132.4 hectares of farmland.

๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œOn this site, about 80 PFM-1/1S mines โ€” anti-personnel blast mines triggered by pressure โ€” have been neutralized. All of them were destroyed exclusively using Bozena 5+ demining machines during soil preparation. Another 25 PFMs were handed over for destruction by the State Emergency Service unit.

In addition, five 76 mm artillery shells from World War II were discovered, as well as an entire container of PFMs that had not opened โ€” inside were another 20 PFMs. There is still much work ahead, but thanks to our Bozena 5+ machines, this process will be much faster. We keep going,โ€ said UDS Technical Director Eduard Drach.
