Danish company BrixDef and UDS agree on the joint development of the Ukrainian de-mining machine Germina

Today the Head of International Cooperation at UDS, Serhii Nerpii, met with Per Brix Merlin, founder and CEO of BrixDef. The two sides discussed closer, results-oriented cooperation in humanitarian de-mining and agreed to co-develop the Ukrainian remotely operated de-mining system Germina along with other terrain-clearing technologies.

Per Brix Merlin is a former officer in the Danish Army’s Engineer Corps, an explosive-ordnance specialist with ten years of field experience, former head of tactical training at the Baltic Officer Academy, regional engineer officer for the Eastern Region, and an instructor in anti-tank gunnery, first aid, diving and combat swimming. He now leads BrixDef and heads its de-mining division.

💬 “Denmark is one of Ukraine’s key partners in both humanitarian and military assistance, and de-mining remains central to our joint efforts. Danish expertise and technology will significantly accelerate the clearing of Ukrainian land from the scourge of war,” stressed Serhii Nerpii, Head of International Cooperation at UDS.

As reported earlier, UDS has already met with representatives of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark in Ukraine—in particular Deputy Head of Mission Jens Alsbirk—to explore cooperation on humanitarian de-mining in the Mykolaiv region. The talks also included Counsellor for Food, Agriculture and Fisheries Poul Jakob Erikstrup.

🇩🇰🇺🇦 UDS extends its sincere gratitude to the Government of Denmark, the Embassy of Denmark in Ukraine and the Danish people for their comprehensive support of Ukraine.

Background: Germina is a remotely operated mechanised de-mining system manufactured by PJSC “Kramatorsk Heavy Machine Tool Building Plant.”
