Clearing of agricultural land at Husarivske LLC continues: explosive ordnance from this war and World War II has been found

UDS continues humanitarian demining operations on 277.7 hectares of agricultural land belonging to Husarivske LLC, located within the Balakliia territorial community of the Izium district, Kharkiv region.

Head of operations: Vitalii Ilchuk. A total of 85 UDS demining specialists are involved in the works.

The operations are carried out at the request of the Center for Humanitarian Demining.

A comprehensive set of humanitarian demining processes is being applied, including technical survey, demining with the use of machines and mechanisms, as well as the BAC (battle area clearance) method. The works involve three Bozena 5+ machines and the “Zmii” ground clearance system.

“During the clearance of the area, explosive ordnance from this war as well as from the period of World War II has been identified. In particular, three World War II–era artillery shells have been recovered and destroyed. Remnants of remote mining and numerous artillery impact craters have also been recorded. We plan to fully complete the clearance by the end of December this year,” noted the Head of Operations, Vitalii Ilchuk.
