Another 23 UDS sappers completed their training and passed their exams
The trainings were organized by Academy of Professional Development. Therefore, the sappers studied the standard operating procedures of the UDS, including mechanized demining.
Based on the results of their training, the exam was taken by a commission, which was created by order of the Director General of UDS, consisting of:
- Kvashuk Vasyl, Chairman of the Commission, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Major General of the Civil Protection Service;
- Zoya Garkavenko, President of Academy of Professional Development LLC;
- Yuriy Tsykeniuk, Colonel of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
The chairman of the examination commission, Major General of the Civil Protection Service Vasyl Kvashuk stressed that the exams were held at a high level of organization, and the contestants who took the exams turned out to be very prepared:
"More than half showed high results in testing and independent work. Most of the questions of the examination commission, the contestants confidently gave answers using regulatory documents and laws in force on the territory of Ukraine in the field of humanitarian demining."
He shared that, in his opinion, the most difficult part of the training was the direction of mechanized demining and knowledge of the standards of operational procedures for mechanized demining.
"This direction is new in Ukraine, until recently it did not exist at all. However, it has already been approved (in April this year, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a pilot project on mandatory certification of mechanized demining equipment) and we have begun to study it. There are certain difficulties in assimilating information, because there is a lot of it, it is new and it is very difficult to immediately assimilate and remember it."
As for the UDS sapper group, Vasyl Kvashuk emphasized that none of the contestants was sent for retake and noted the approach of the UDS management to the organization of the work process.
"The group is very diverse in terms of professional, practical skills, and age. Everyone has a different level of training. Among today's applicants who took the exams, most worked for other companies. And even whole teams moved to UDS only because this company, according to reviews, has the best approach to people, better technical capabilities, and the best team. In addition, the UDS team primarily has respect for people, and experienced and professional management, which ensures adequate personnel management and proper organization of tasks. It is also a sufficient level of salaries and social aspects that our contestants pay attention to. I would like to advise the contestants to always apply the theoretical knowledge they have in practice, and to be careful. All the knowledge they have acquired should be quickly and successfully applied in practice," Vasyl Kvashuk added.
