A working meeting of the Ministry of Economy and mine action operators was held
Today, a working meeting of representatives of the Ministry of Economy and national mine action operators was held to promote the development of the mine action services market in Ukraine.
The meeting was organized by the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine and chaired by Deputy Minister Ihor Bezkaravaynyi. It was organized with the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
Participants: Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, UNDP, Mine Action Center of Ukraine, SSC, Ukrainian National Association for Humanitarian Demining, and companies: "Patron Demining, Free Way, HALO Trust (Ukraine), Ukroboronservice, Sheriff Demining, Handicap International, Ukrainian Demining Services, and other Mine Action Operators.
Dense intensive 6-hour joint work. All discussions were focused on developing a methodology that can be applied to the humanitarian demining market, a priority goal of the Ministry of Economy for 2024.
As a result, the following issues were discussed:
- Simplification of the certification system for mine action operators;
- Pricing - the procedure of formation and its components;
- Approaches to establishing the complexity category of land plots to be demined;
- Organization of explosive ordnance disposal processes;
- Classification of the profession of "sapper" or "deminer";
- Organization of the process of non-technical survey.
General impressions - the meeting was constructive and very relevant (as they say - on time)! A lively, heated discussion in an atmosphere of specialists united by a common goal - demining Ukraine. UDS was represented by Oleksandr Liev, General Director of the company, who shared our experience in the demining pricing procedure and its components.
