A Working Meeting of National HMA Operators Took Place

The meeting was held at the invitation of UDS and took place in our UDS conference hall. The management had the opportunity to present the work of the UDS administration. The event was organized by the Ukrainian National Association for Humanitarian Demining (UNAMAD).

The meeting took place in a lively discussion format, during which participants addressed key issues related to industry development, operator cooperation, and the improvement of the regulatory framework.

Main topics discussed by the working group:

  1. Code of Ethical Conduct for Market Participants – defining principles of business ethics, transparency, and partnership interaction among operators.
  2. Qualification criteria and procurement requirements – discussing proposals to improve participant selection and limited-tender procedures in accordance with national legislation and international standards.
  3. Methodology for determining the cost of demining works – analyzing current approaches and suggesting updates that account for real costs, local terrain, and contamination types.
  4. Standardization system (DSTU 8820 series) – identifying inconsistencies and developing proposals for the national standardization authorities to eliminate them.
  5. Subcontracting within state programs – forming approaches to involve subcontractors, defining their responsibilities, and ensuring quality control.
  6. Development of UNAMAD’s capacity – coordinating actions, expanding membership, and using shared resources more effectively.

💬 “Communication among Association members has become very constructive and productive,” noted Oleksii Botnarenko, First Deputy Head of UNAMAD.
