A new July rotation begins at UDS

The Centre, East, and South Humanitarian Demining Departments of UDS have begun a new operational rotation, with all teams currently focused on a single project at Landex Agro LLC in the Izium District of Kharkiv Oblast.

The total project area covers 875.6 hectares.

The primary objective of this 22-day rotation is to complete the humanitarian demining of the entire Landex Agro site.

"This is a large and technically challenging project. We have been working here for the past three months, deploying ten demining machines. We expect to complete all clearance operations by the end of July," said Eduard Drach, Technical Director of UDS.

The Mechanized Demining Department has already completed ground preparation across the site. During the current rotation, UDS demining teams will focus on fully clearing the area of explosive remnants of war.

Meanwhile, the Mechanized Demining Department and its equipment have been redeployed to prepare another project site at Yug-M Agrofirm LLC, also located in Kharkiv Oblast.

"We expect to complete ground preparation at the Yug-M site during July. Three Bozena 5+ mechanical demining machines are currently deployed there," said Ihor Hushel, Head of the UDS Mechanized Demining Department.

In August, the East Humanitarian Demining Department will carry out the full clearance of the Yug-M site.

UDS is also launching operations at a new project site in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast this July.

"We will begin with a Non-Technical Survey (NTS). Once the operational plan has been approved, the Mechanized Demining Department will commence ground preparation. Our goal is to complete the project in August," said Anna Anisimova, Deputy Technical Director and Operations Manager.

Also in August, the South Humanitarian Demining Department will begin work on a major humanitarian demining project in Chornobaivka, Kherson Oblast.

"This is a very large site, covering more than 600 hectares. Various types of explosive ordnance, former military positions, craters, and other explosive remnants of war have been identified there. Our objective is to complete the clearance operations during August and September," said Artem Duduliak, Head of the South Humanitarian Demining Department.

Currently, more than 30 UDS demining teams are deployed across operational sites.
